So after turning 29 I haven't felt different or like there was any particular purpose or thing I needed to achieve in life. BEFORE I turned 29, even on the day of turning 29 I panicked a bit...should I be married, shouldn't I have had at least one baby? Have I done all I am "supposed" to have by now?
Normal questions right, at some point everyone gets that - I know someone who went through that at 18!! But for the first time in my life I was slightly dreading my birthday and all it might represent to me having not completed the life changing things that others have.
Like a true lightning bolt moment, I received a text from a great friend who told me to make the most of everyday of the last year of my twenties and it suddenly felt like YES THAT is what I need to do. I need to do all the things I wasn't sure I would do, experience things I never have and end my twenties on a high note. I think I now WANT there to be a difference for me, for twenties to represent one thing and my thirties to represent another. Or maybe this last year will inspire a change in thinking for my thirties.
Either way, I set about asking people that I consider friends or who are family to give me one thing or a choice of things for me to pick one thing, that I could try to achieve by the time I'm thirty. The idea is not to overload myself with impossible challenges, but to provide a fun way of living out the last year of this decade and looking back with some fond memories. Pictures will follow as will details of it happening.
This sort of feels like a self-indulgent My Name Is Earl but it's something I want to do and I can't wait to get started...
